Help Us Build Kendal’s First Community Cycling Centre
Cycling is one of the fastest-growing and most accessible activities in Kendal, but our community still lacks a dedicated space for cyclists to gather, share, and grow. Many other local clubs—such as Kendal Football Club, the Bowling Club, and the Golf Club—have a home where they can meet, train, and support one another. Now it’s time for cyclists to have a community space of their own.
Our Vision: A Cycling Hub for All
We’re excited to announce our campaign to build a Community Cycling Centre right here in Kendal, a place where cyclists of all ages and abilities can come together. Our goal is to expand into an adjacent building, transforming it into a safe and welcoming environment that provides everything the local cycling community needs.
Expanding Our Space
Our goal is to expand into an adjacent building (image below) where the additional space will mean we can securely store and work on bikes. We want to be able to repair and service bikes as you need, and not have to wait for storage space or a workstand to be free. This space will greatly enhance our custom bike building experience, with sample frames, demo and hire bikes so you can try-before-you-buy. You could also borrow a high quality bike to enjoy whilst on holiday, or if your bike is being repaired.

With the rise in popularity of electric bikes, we’ll offer charging facilities to ensure your e-bike is ready for the next adventure.
A dedicated and safe space for cyclists to store their bikes, whether you're commuting, training, or just passing through.
How To Donate
We offer a variety of donation options on Indiegogo, ranging from £100 to £25,000, each with its own special perk. Perk can include a mystery box, a custom bike, or the opportunity to name our community storage shed.

Gateway to the Lake District
Kendal is the gateway to the Lake District and a fantastic place for cycling of all persuasions. We have some of the UK's most epic road climbs and on the doorstep, Lake District natural rocky mountain biking, trail centres and miles of gravel. Growing Mapdec Cycle Works into a bigger site with a bike wash, e-bike charging station will allow local cyclists to care for their bikes with ease. Bike hire, repair workshop and a leading custom build centre will encourage cyclists to visit Kendal and put Kendal even more firmly on the cycling map.
