At the heart of every custom build is a beautiful new frame.
This is the most important choice in your custom build journey and can be the most difficult, as well as the most fun to make.

1. Choose your frame.
We can talk through the options and offer expert, independent advice once we get to know you and your cycling goals. Consider carefully the type of riding you want to do, the longevity you expect from your bike and the fit/position your body needs. If you are unsure of the frame size you require please ask us about bike fitting.

2. Choose your parts
Once you have made your frame choice it’s time to build all the other elements of your dream bike. At this stage there is a lot to consider as your choice of wheel set and finishing kit can make a huge difference to how your bike feels to ride, how much it weighs and it’s suitability for different types of riding. Weight, longevity, aesthetics, comfort and budget all have part to play in your final decision.

3. We build your bike
Once your decisions are finalised we take a deposit and order the frame and parts. We will let you know when we receive the parts and keep you informed of progress on your bike build. As soon as we have everything in our hands we add your bike to our workshop queue, keeping you updated every step of the way.

4. Confirmation Fit
Our highly skilled mechanics assemble your bike ready for you to come into Mapdec for a confirmation fit. We check your position on the bike and make any adjustments needed to ensure you are happy before cutting down the steerer tube. With the position finalised we can complete cabling, add bar tape and ensure everything on your bike is working perfectly and ready to ride.

5. New Bike Day
The day you have been waiting for! We will let you know when your bike is ready for collection from Mapdec or we can arrange for delivery.
