Have you ever been at a MTBO or Adventure Race and seen the crazy collection of home made map boards? They are like secret recipes.

Mapdec came about while learning some new design skills. As an Adventure Racer I had always been fascinated by the art of navigating, and by the collection of homemade designs of Mountain Bike map holders used in events. The project took on a life of its own, and now we have a real product.

The aim  was to build 3 key features into the design, make it durable, and make the price a bit more accessible; especially to riders trying AR or MTBO for the first few times. The Mapdec map holder allows the map to rotate freely, yet stay in place. It elevates the map closer to the eye line and off the bars for a much better view of the map. Our board also uses just one mount point, making it possible to easily mount lights, and other accessories at the same time. 

What is unique about mapdec is that we do this in just a 200g product, and at just £34. We have shed weight by using an I-Beam construction to maintain rigidity. Our mount is 20mm wide making it kinder on carbon handlebars, and it eliminates any wobble. With a mapdec holder your map is always in sight so you can navigate and ride.
